Self Driving Cars
I believe that autonomous vehicles are coming and they are coming sooner than later. Autonomous vehicles are going to revolutionize the car industry, the shipping industry and improve mobile independence for an aging population. Imagine a semi truck that only stops to refuel or to unload or load cargo. Imagine being able to live 50 miles from your office and zip along at 80 MPW and work while commuting to work. Imagine if your 75 year old parent or grandparent can safely get to a doctors appointment or grocery shopping? Insurance companies are backing autonomous vehicles, because they reduce crashes and subsequent payment of claims. Are we currently at a level 5 (completely autonomous)? Not even close. But we are at level 3 (hands off driving). The big question I have is, who will get there first? USA or China. Check out this youtube video for a more in depth discussion
